When getting ready to list your house, My Next KW Home Group will come by your home, show you comparable properties that sold in your neighbourhood, talk about our services throughout the process and discuss ways to best market the home.
We feel that one of the best ways to market your home is with staging. That is why with every new listing we bring in a professional staging team to help provide ideas for how to best showcase the home.
Why is staging so important?
We asked Alana Merrit, owner of Rooms in Bloom Home Staging & Design Inc. to help explain why staging is so important.
In some circumstances, sellers may decide to change some of the wall colours throughout their home. Alana noted that, “Painting is one the of least expensive home renovations when it comes to preparing your home for sale, and yields a great return on investment”.
It is no secret that the majority of people are drawn to homes that feel, light, bright and airy, rather than dark and dingy. “Today’s trends are less gray, more white. For broad appeal, replace personal tones like red or yellow. Neutral mushroom, or “ greige “ tones are the best choices for home staging. Colours evoke an emotional connection; soft spa tones such as blues and greens provide a relaxing palate in bedrooms and bathrooms.”
If you have personalized your home in sunshine yellow or pops of pink, some may agree that it is beautiful in the room – but when listing your home you want appeal to the most amount of buyers as possible. “Over 90% of buyers will look first at the home’s online listing, and judge it based on the photos . Your pictures are worth a thousand words and you only have one chance to make a first impression! Today’s buyers are looking for a home that is move in ready- the goal is to lighten and brighten,” Alana added.
Alana’s favourite colours for 2018 are:
Anew Gray SW 7030 by Sherwin Williams
Accessible Beige SW 7036 by Sherwin Williams
