WRDSB - Waterloo Region District School Board
The WRDSB is the public (secular) English school board serving Waterloo Region.

Registration Requirements
- Proof of address: Utility bill, property tax notice, or lease agreement

French Immersion (WRDSB)
French Immersion is very popular in Waterloo Region. Here's what you need to know:
- Entry point: Grade 2 (all students take Core French in Grade 1)
- Application process: Lottery system (not first-come, first-served)
- Application window: January 7-31 for the following September
- No attendance boundaries: You can apply to any school offering FI
- Priority: Given to students whose home school offers French Immersion
- Instruction: 58% of the day in French starting in Grade 2
- Transportation: Not provided for out-of-boundary French Immersion students
Important: FI is Not Guaranteed
The WRDSB does not guarantee anyone a spot in Grade 2 French Immersion. When demand exceeds capacity, a lottery determines placement. Apply before January 31 for the best chances.
WCDSB - Waterloo Catholic District School Board
The WCDSB operates Catholic schools throughout the region.

- Secondary schools: All students must take religious education courses
