First impressions make a big difference!

May 28, 2021

Preparing your home for saleIt is the end of May which is the time of year some people wait for to really ‘dig’ into their gardens. With the chance of frost behind us (mostly) now is a great time to get your gardens looking their best!

But why do gardens & landscaping matter?

The outside of your home is the first thing (and maybe the only thing) people see. How well you maintain the outside, can be an indicator of what it looks like on the inside. Curb appeal can make a big difference especially when it comes to selling your home.

You wouldn’t leave dirty dishes in your sink or your bed unmade for photos or showings would you? So why leave the outside of your property not looking its best?

First impressions are critical, they can create a lot of emotion in someone – they shape the way a prospective buyer will enter into and tour around the home. A beautiful looking home from the outside will set a more positive tone for the buyer as they  walk through your home. Buyers that go in with a bad first impression are more likely to carry that impression throughout the home.

A few key tips to remember:

  • Think long term – what you plant today will continue to grow and flourish for years to come
  • Low maintenance versus high maintenance – don’t love spending all your time in the gardens? Don’t worry you are not alone. There are plenty of different ways to get beautiful looking low maintenance gardens.
  • Plan for your specific property – Need a little extra privacy? Want to decrease your energy bills? Looking to improve your mental health? All of this can be accomplished through property landscaping.

Do you have a stunning property but aren’t ready to move?

Now may be a great time to take some outdoor photos. That way if you decide to move during the winter months you can still showcase what the property will look like during the spring and summer months.

We are happy to send a photographer to your home to get some outdoor photos while your property is in its prime. Just message us!
