Shelterfest 

Loation: Concordia Club, 429 Ottawa Street South Kitchener, ON N2M 3P6

Date: Thursday, June 1, 2023

About the event: 

Royal LePage Wolle Realty is hosting a fundraiser for the RLP Shelter Foundation which supports more than 50,000 women and children each year. 

Shelterfest is a fun-filled night, all proceeds from this event will go to the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region and Woolwich Community Services.

This year we are combining our LIVE Shelterfest 2023 event with an online auction!

City of Waterloo Open House

Location: 265 Lexington Court, Waterloo

Time: 10am – 2pm

About the event: 

Visit the City of Waterloo Service centre for their annual Open House on Sunday, June 10. Enjoy equipment rides, face painting, demos and displays. Proceeds from the charity BBQ go to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

 

Open Streets 

Location: Willis Way, Waterloo

Date/Time: June 10 – 12pm – 6pm

About the event: 

Open Streets is back in uptown Waterloo this year. Bring your friends and family and join in on a fun-filled day that will take over Willis Way. There will be live performances, mural painting, local art vendors, games and more.

 

The Grand Porch Party 

Loation: UpTown Waterloo

Date: Sunday, June 11 (1pm – 5pm) 

About the event: 

The Grand Porch Party is an annual event that brings together a variety of different types of music and activities. Enjoy smooth jazz, infectious pop, foot-tapping folk or electrifying rock throughout the afternoon. The event also includes book readings, local food vendors and lots of dancing 🙂 

What to bring? The organizing committee recommends bringing a picnic blanket or lawn chair with you if you’d like to sit down. 

 

Waterloo Classic – hosted by Run Waterloo

Location: Columbia Icefield, University of Waterloo (250 Columbia Street W, Waterloo)

Date: Saturday, June 17 & Sunday, June 18, 2023

About the event: 

The Waterloo Classic is one of our favourite Waterloo Region running events and it also happens to be the oldest and largest 10k race. The Father’s Day tradition began in 1978 and is still going strong, bringing families and the running community in general together for a fun summer morning!

This race has it all: a strong and supportive community, live band, competitive field, great food, pizza and beer, and prizes, finisher medals, and much more. Since 2016, this race has been hosted by University of Waterloo Athletics, fundraising for various causes such as the Women’s Sport Initiative Fund.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Festival 

Loation: Victoria Park 

Date: June 24, 2023 (12pm – 8pm), June 25 (12pm – 6pm)

About the event: 

The KW Multicultural Festival is an annual event that is one of the biggest events of its kind in Canada. The festival provides an opportunity for the community to share food, fun, music and dance. 

Where do I park for the KW Multicultural Festival? there is ample parking at nearby lots or Victoria Park is easily accessible via Grand River Transit.
